Alana has been involved with supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds for over five years. After completing a Degree in Criminology, her interest in the Criminal Justice System led to her working as a co-ordinator with the Youth Offending Service. In addition to this she is the Chair for Community Interest Company, ‘AVision for Empowerment’ which delivers ‘self development’ courses. The course allows people to focus on what they’re good at, what they’re passionate about and, at the same time build business skills and vital
confidence to move forward.
Alana has a genuine commitment to young people. She is an advocate of volunteering and has volunteered on various projects as a co-coordinator, mentor and youth worker. This year she will be co –ordinating a community project with international volunteers from around the world. Alana’s loves learning, researching, travel, reading and music.
